What is Spinning Babies® for?
Spinning Babies® Parent Class highlights your baby’s active role in birth.
During labor the baby needs to pass through the three levels of the pelvis. Learn techniques to help you lengthen the muscles and ligaments that support or restrict your pelvic levels. Together, you and your birth partner can use these techniques before and during labor to help “make room for baby!” Spinning Babies reveals how the baby can find optimal positions for labor, and make birth less painful, and even pleasurable!
What can you expect?
Did you know that your baby has his/her own job in the process of birth? Spinning Babies® classes help you to understand the physiology of birth in a unique way – specifically, from the perspective of your baby! While navigating the bony pelvis in birth, your baby benefits from using a variety of labor positions and specific approaches according to your baby’s “station” (the orientation of their head in relation to your pelvis), and the tightness of ligaments, muscles, and other soft tissues of the abdomen. Not sure what that means? Let me show you!
This class gives you tools to help relieve some common pregnancy ailments including back ache and round ligament pain. Even breech babies can benefit from these tools and may change positions. The Spinning Babies® Parent Class also addresses situations in birth where labor progress is slowed, or baby seems “stuck” – and this can mean this difference between a vaginal or a cesarean birth! Our aim is comfort in pregnancy and ease in birth, and this class can help you get there!
When is it a good time to use Spinning Babies®?
